About the event
20th AGM for CSHS
On Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10 am, the Canadian Slovenian Historical Society (CSHS)
held its 20th AGM in the Moya Financial building in Etobicoke. Another well-attended and
successful AGM.
The CSHS was pleased to report that it had been awarded a $10,500 capital grant from the
Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of
Canada’s leading granting foundations. On behalf of the OTF, the Honorable Kinga
Surma, Minister of Infrastructure and Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Etobicoke
Centre was in attendance.
The reports were presented by the executive committee and the archivist Heather Gardiner.
Then, Peter Markes, a board member, presented the necessary government by-law
amendments which were approved.
The term expired for Mary Ponikvar Desanti, Mary Rozmanc, Stephanie Schaeffer and Mario
Ulcar. Since there were no other nominations presented two weeks prior to the AGM, all four
were re-elected for another term by acclamation. The meeting ended at 10:46am followed by a
social.
